Interested IBM Acquisition RIM One Business Unit - International Business Machines (IBM) is reported to have an interest to acquire a business unit of Research in Motion (RIM).
It is as revealed by two anonymous sources as reported by Bloomberg, which states that the unit RIM's Enterprise-Service has received interest from IBM.
IBM in the report is said to have informally approached about the possibility of acquiring the division, which operates a network of secure servers used to support the BlackBerry device.
As known, according to a report issued by IDC, RIM has recorded sales decline by 43% last quarter. It was then made a Canadian phone vendor must be willing to come out of the top 5 world's top smartphone vendor. The company also said it would lay off 3000 employees this month.
Until now there is no party that expressed interest to buy RIM as a whole or the division that makes cell phone.
